“BOROUGH HALL ON YOUR BLOCK: NORTHWEST QUEENS” TO CONCLUDE WITH 34th AVENUE STREET FAIR

Event will feature bike jamboree, health services and immigration resources

QUEENS, NY – After an exciting and compelling week of community events, Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr.’s successful “Borough Hall on Your Block: Northwest Queens” initiative will conclude tomorrow, August 26, with a comprehensive Street Fair from 12pm to 4pm on the 34th Avenue Open Street in Jackson Heights.

Taking place between Junction Boulevard and 91st Street, the Street Fair will feature fun and informative programming for residents of all ages, all while connecting community members with city agencies and community organizations.

The fair will include the following activities:

  • Bike Jamboree (12pm to 2:30pm): Free bike lessons (first come, first serve) for young riders, VIN etching, children’s games, giveaways, raffles and more.
  • Health Services (1pm to 4pm): Free health screenings, disease prevention information, enrollment assistance for WIC, SNAP and health insurance and more.
  • Immigration Resources (1pm to 4pm): Referrals for legal assistance, financial education, mental health services, job training, English and computer classes and more.
