QUEENS BOROUGH CABINET TO HEAR PRESENTATIONS ON CANNABIS ENFORCEMENT; SUMMER YOUTH PROGRAMS

QUEENS, NY –The Queens Borough Cabinet, chaired by Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr., will hold a virtual meeting on Tuesday, June 6, at 9:30 AM.

The meeting will feature a presentation from the New York State Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) about efforts to stop the unlicensed sale of cannabis. The presentation will discuss the increased civil and tax penalties on unlicensed sales that are included in the state’s Fiscal Year 2024 budget.

The meeting will also feature a briefing from the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) about its summer employment and educational programs. The briefing will include an update about certain programs that are transitioning from the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice to DYCD.

This meeting will be conducted virtually with Borough Cabinet members participating via videoconference. Those interested in viewing the meeting can watch via live stream on the Borough President’s YouTube channel and on the homepage of the Borough President’s website at www.queensbp.org.
