QUEENS BOROUGH CABINET TO HEAR PRESENTATIONS ON FIRE SAFETY; COMMUNITY DISTRICT NEEDS

QUEENS, NY –The Queens Borough Cabinet, chaired by Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr., will hold an in-person meeting on Tuesday, October 4, at 9:30 AM at Queens Borough Hall, 120-55 Queens Boulevard in Kew Gardens.

The meeting will feature a presentation from the Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY) on fire prevention and safety. The presentation will review the common causes of fires and discuss escape plans and other fire safety measures.

It will also include a presentation from the NYC Department of City Planning (DCP) about the Community District Needs process, the annual procedure during which all Community Boards prepare “Community District Needs” statements that identify their funding priorities for their districts. DCP will provide a brief overview of what is required in each statement and offer tips, resources, and best practices for producing quality submissions.
