TOWN HALL FOR NYCHA RESIDENTS AMONG HIGHLIGHTS OF “BOROUGH HALL ON YOUR BLOCK: WESTERN QUEENS” DAY 2

QUEENS, NY – “Borough Hall on Your Block: Western Queens” continues tomorrow, February 22, with a trio of public events geared toward families living in NYCHA housing, job seekers and Queens’ seniors.
First, Borough President Richards will host a Western Queens Jobs Recruitment Fair from 1pm to 3pm at LaGuardia Community College, located at 45-50 Van Dam Street in Long Island City. Job seekers will be able to connect with a wide variety of employers looking to hire Queens residents for positions in aviation, insurance, healthcare, education, law enforcement, public service, community empowerment and more.
Next, Borough President Richards will sponsor an Older Adult Mental Health Awareness Day event from 1pm to 4pm at Sunnyside Community Services, located at 43-31 39th Street in Sunnyside. The afternoon will include an expert-led panel discussion on supporting mental wellbeing of our seniors, a senior service resource fair, fitness exercises and a raffle.
Finally, to give NYCHA families an outlet to have their concerns addressed, Borough President Richards will host a Western Queens NYCHA Town Hall for the families of the Queensbridge, Astoria, Ravenswood and Woodside Houses from 6pm to 8pm at the Variety Boys and Girls Club of Queens, located at 21-12 30th Road in Astoria.
On hand to answer residents’ questions at the town hall will be representatives from NYCHA, the NYPD, the NYC Department of Transportation and others.
