Queens Live! Concert Series: Tribute to Biz Markie
The final full month of summer might be winding down, but there’s no stopping Queens from enjoying some warm-weather outdoor fun just yet. To celebrate summer with families from across the borough, Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr. proudly presents “Queens Live!” — a free, three-show, borough-spanning concert series of various genres, produced in partnership with NYC Parks and the Kupferberg Center for the Arts at Queens College. Queens Live! concludes on Sunday, September 19 in Springfield Gardens’ Baisley Pond Park with a Tribute to Biz Markie from 6PM to 8PM. Hosted by Video Music Box co-host Ralph McDaniels and featuring the legendary Cutmaster Cool-V, the show will pay homage to the “Just a Friend” hit-maker, known affectionately as the “Clown Prince of Hip-Hop,” who passed away last month at the age of 57. All three concerts are free to attend, open to the public and do not require registration in advance.
