Bankra Caribbean Culture Festival: The Biggest Event That Celebrates The Cultural Diversity Of The Caribbean Is Here Again.
New York, United States May 8, 2021: Braata Productions, a non-profit organization that brings the Caribbean folk culture, music, theatre, and entertainment to the United States proudly announces the upcoming 7th edition of the Bankra Caribbean Culture Festival. The event will be hosted online on Saturday, 5th June 2021 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
Bankra Caribbean Culture Festival is an annual event that celebrates the rich culture and tradition of the Caribbean. It is a one-day festival which until last year was held on the lush grounds of St. Albans Park in Southeast Queens. With the effect of the Pandemic and the resulting quarantine, the event be held online for the first time in 2020. The 2021 festival will once more return to the virtual space. This year’s event is set to feature a live performance from festival’s headliner Shurwayne Winchester and many other artists and entertainers. Winchester has won numerous Calypso Monarch and Road March titles. He won awards for “Songwriter of the Year”, “Song of the Year”. (for “Dead or Alive”) and “Groovy Soca of the Year”, (for “Don’t Stop”, his collaboration with Shawn Noel), He will be joined on the virtual stage by Creole Rock representing Guyana and Inga Stewart hailing from Jamaica, who among many other talent artists will be sure to keep patrons entertained!
Other activities to enjoy in the festival includes arts and craft, storytelling, and a health panel discussion.
“The online edition of the festival was such a success, quite honestly well beyond what we had expected. The digitals platforms allowed us to reach audiences all over the US & The Caribbean”, said the company’s Executive Director.
