Breastfeeding: Nurturing the Path to Collective Health and Wellness
Celebrating Black Breastfeeding Week and National Breastfeeding Awareness Month This event will feature:
  • Breastfeeding Education
  • Baby Lift Up Ceremony
  • Community Resources and Support
  • Covid-19 Testing and Vaccines (with $100 vaccine incentive)

Queens County Section and NY State Senator Leroy Comrie invite you to attend "Breastfeeding: Nurturing the Path to Collective Health and Wellness" in recognition of National Breastfeeding Awareness Month and National Black Breastfeeding Week. On-site COVID testing and Pfizer vaccines will also be available for the entire community, along with a $100 vaccine incentive (no appointment, no insurance needed.) This FREE event will take place on Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM at St. Albans Park, located on Merrick Blvd. between Linden Blvd. and Sayers Ave., St. Albans, NY 11433. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held at the Robert Ross Family Life Center located at 172-17 Linden Blvd., St. Albans, NY 11434. Join us to receive breastfeeding information and support from our community partners, giveaways, raffle gifts and music by The Legendary Chris Washington! We will also have a special ‘Baby Lift Up Ceremony’ for parents and caregivers to lift their babies (and older children too) to good health, declare they are valuable and are deserving of a prosperous future where they can thrive and be successful! The ceremony will also embrace pregnant women for safe births and will uplift everyone in their support systems. Of course we will continue to adhere to the CDC's COVID safety guidelines by practicing social distancing, using hand sanitizer and wearing our masks during the event.
