NYC African Heritage Celebration
The New York City Commission on Human Rights invites the New York City community to join us for the African Heritage Celebration. 
Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr. is a co-sponsor of this celebration.
This is an outdoor event. Social distancing rules will be enforced, and participants should wear masks. COVID-19 vaccines and free tests will be available.
African Heritage is celebrated from September 1st through September 15th across the United States of America. Throughout the course of these days, African immigrant communities celebrate, commemorate, and showcase the contributions of people from the African diaspora.
The New York City Commission on Human Rights, the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs, the Mayor’s Office of Community Affairs and Partnerships, New York Health and Hospitals, the Mayor’s Office of Faith and Community Partnerships, The Africa Center, DSI International, and African Communities Together invite you to join us for a fun, commemorative, and celebratory day at The Africa Center on September 9th, 2021 from 12:00p.m. until 5:00p.m. We will: • celebrate and honor African culture and contributions to New York City • share resources with our growing communities on their human rights • provide free legal/ immigration consultation • share access to free Covid-19 vaccines and tests in various languages • enjoy cultural/artistic performances • share school supplies to children returning to school and provide activities for the entire family.
