*RESCHEDULED FROM JUNE 17TH* On Saturday, June 24th, 2023, Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr. will be hosting a Juneteenth Celebration: “Honoring Our Roots”, a festive gathering of food-centric partners and vendors that encourages healthy lifestyles, pays homage to Juneteenth’s rich history, focuses on real-life, equity-driven practices, and showcases the reeducation of healthy foods across cultural communities. This event will be hosted in partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Equity, The Mayor’s Office of Food Policy, Queens County Farm Museum and Dianna Rose & Sovereign Markets! The program will consist of a panel discussion on Food Equity and Healthy Eating, a cooking demonstration, followed by tabling from different organizations and agencies to share information, resources, and swag. The Celebration will run from 11am-3pm at Sovereign Markets Open Street at 225th Street and 141s Road, Laurelton, NY 11413 (right outside of the Laurelton LIRR Parking Lot).
