The month of June is Gun Violence Awareness Month. On June 29th, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Queens Borough President Donovan Richards will host his office’s first Queens Promotes Peace Conference within the Helen Marshall Cultural Center at Queens Borough Hall. The event will highlight groups and organizations that provide resources to kids and adults who deal with issues that plague our communities, such as access to housing, mental health guidance, self defense training, mentoring services, and much more. The Queens Promotes Peace Conference will give our crisis management groups and youth organizations an opportunity to promote what hey do and share what peace looks like and means to them.
