Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr., NYPD officials, and community leaders from across Queens will gather on the steps in front of Queens Borough Hall on Wednesday, February 2 at 5:30 PM for a candlelight vigil in memory of Police Officer Jason Rivera and Police Officer Wilbert Mora. The two officers from Manhattan’s 32nd Precinct were shot to death on Friday, January 21, while responding to a domestic violence situation in Harlem.
The vigil will also recognize Police Officer Sumit Sulan, a Queens resident, who also responded to the domestic violence call and who shot and killed the suspected gunman, likely preventing further loss of innocent life.
