SOUTHEAST QUEENS REGIONAL TOWN HALL HOSTED BY BOROUGH PRESIDENT RICHARDS @ Milton G. Bassin Performing Arts Center at York College

As part of an effort to address outstanding issues impacting the residents of Southeast Queens, Borough President Donovan Richards Jr. will hold the second in his series of regional town hall meetings on Tuesday, October 19 at 6:30 PM.

The town hall will occur at the Milton G. Bassin Performing Arts Center at York College, located at 94-45 Guy R. Brewer Blvd. in Jamaica, and will feature representatives from City agencies like the New York City Police Department, the New York City Housing Authority, the New York City Department of Sanitation, and others. The representatives will listen to concerns raised by the community members in attendance and work to correct any problems brought up.

Borough President Richards, representatives from Community Boards 10, 12, 13 and 14, and local elected officials will also be in attendance to gather feedback on local issues from the Southeast Queens community.

The October 19 town hall is co-sponsored by Senator Joseph P. Addabbo Jr., State Senator Leroy Comrie, State Senator James Sanders Jr., Assembly Member Alicia Hyndman, Assembly Member Clyde Vanel, Council Member Adrienne Adams, Council Member Selvena Brooks-Powers, Council Member James Gennaro, and Council Member I. Daneek Miller.

All those who wish to attend the town hall must present proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or the results of a recent negative COVID-19 test. Masks will have to be worn at all times during the event.

Due to space constraints, members of the media who plan to attend must RSVP via email at [email protected] or via phone at 718-286-2640. Members of the general public who wish to attend should RSVP at www.queensbp.org/rsvp.

Those who cannot attend the town hall in person can watch a livestream that will be available on www.QPTV.org starting at 6:30 PM on October 19.
