The Queens Borough Board, chaired by Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr., will hold a meeting on Monday, January 8, 2024, at 5:30 PM in Queens Borough Hall, 120-55 Queens Boulevard in Kew Gardens. The meeting will include an update from NYC Emergency Management (NYCEM) on the city’s work to prepare for emergencies and its efforts to encourage New Yorkers to be prepared for winter weather and other potential emergency situations. The meeting will also include a presentation from the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal (HCR) about its Resilient Retrofits program, which offers grants and low-interest loans to qualifying single-family homeowners to finance projects that will help protect their homes from flooding. The program also offers certain homeowners financial assistance to help pay for energy efficiency upgrades.
