The Queens Borough Board, chaired by Borough President Donovan Richards, will meet on Monday, May 10, 2021 at 5:30 p.m.
The meeting will include a presentation from the New York City Economic Development Corporation (EDC) on the business terms for a proposed long-term lease to develop Phase 1 of Willets Point. The development would include three 100% affordable housing buildings, public open space, and a K-8 public school on six acres of the Special Willets Point District.
Following the presentation, the Borough Board will be asked to vote on the proposed lease.
In addition, the Borough Board will receive an update from the New York City Department of Design and Construction (DDC) on plans to erect a parking garage adjacent to the new jail slated to be constructed in Kew Gardens.
This meeting will be conducted virtually, with Borough Board members participating via videoconference. The meeting will also be live-streamed to the public on the Borough President’s website at www.queensbp.org/community-boards.
