Queens Borough Board Meeting
The Queens Borough Board, chaired by Acting Borough President Sharon Lee, will hear a presentation from the New York City Department of Small Business Services (SBS) about its efforts to help business owners cope with the economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Borough Board will also welcome special guest speaker U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, who will discuss a variety of issues and priorities including the Ensuring Nutrition for America’s Students Act, a bill sponsored by the Senator to help stem the tide of food insecurity by extending the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) program through the current school year and expanding eligibility to allow more children to receive the nutritious meals covered by the program. This meeting will be conducted virtually, with Borough Board members participating via videoconference. The meeting will also be live-streamed to the public on the Borough President’s website at www.queensbp.org/community-boards.
