Thursday, July 1 at 11:30 AM

QUEENS, NY – Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr. and Queens County Farm Museum will host the grand opening of the first farmstand at Queens Borough Hall.

Running July 1 through November 4, the farmstand will open from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM each Thursday, weather permitting, in front of Borough Hall at 120-55 Queens Boulevard in Kew Gardens. Free tomato seed packets will be distributed while supplies last.

The Borough Hall farmstand will offer shoppers hyper-locally grown fruits, vegetables, herbs, flowers and other farm products. Over 200 varieties of fruits, vegetables, herbs and flowers are grown at the Queens County Farm Museum, a 47-acre site in Floral Park, Queens.

The Borough Hall farmstand will also serve as a food scrap drop-off location, with all food scraps collected being brought back to the Queens County Farm Museum for composting.

Queens Borough Hall is adjacent to the Kew Gardens/Union Turnpike station on the E and F subway lines and is in close proximity to several bus routes.
