QUEENS, NY – New York City Health + Hospitals, ADAPT Community Network and Northwestern Mutual will join the Child Center of New York, the Council for Airport Opportunity, Queens Center for Progress, the U.S. Census Bureau, the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Watch Guard 24/7, Workforce1 and the Young Adult Institute (YAI) in the fifth “Virtual Queens Jobs Recruitment Fair” held by Acting Queens Borough President Sharon Lee since the COVID-19 pandemic began to connect Queens job seekers to available employment opportunities.

“As New York City enters phase three of reopening, we want Queens to be at the forefront of the economic recovery,” said Borough President LEE. “Many employers are hiring to fill jobs in key sectors of our economy, and we are pleased to have both new and returning employers to answer questions live about available jobs now, including Census jobs, support professionals and more.”

Held every third Wednesday, the next Virtual Queens Jobs Recruitment Fair is scheduled for Wednesday, July 15, 2020 online from 2:00PM to 3:30PM. Prospective applicants interested in participating in the live interactive Q&A via Zoom Webinar must RSVP by Tuesday, July 14 at www.queensbp.org/rsvp. The Jobs Recruitment Fair will also be livestreamed at www.queensbp.org/recruitmentfair.

Les participants et les spectateurs entendront de brèves présentations d'employeurs et de recruteurs qui cherchent à pourvoir des centaines de postes dans divers domaines de services essentiels, notamment les soins de santé, le transport, le commerce de détail et la sécurité.

“With 11 acute care hospitals, a robust network of primary care community health centers, nursing facilities, a home health care agency, and dozens of specialty services and Centers of Excellence, the NYC Health + Hospitals healthcare system offers opportunities for every level of healthcare professional and every kind of setting,” said NYC Health + Hospitals Associate Executive Director of External Affairs CLEON EDWARDS. “Our Health System provides a unique and exciting work environment where healthcare professionals can practice their skills with excellence and share their passion for our mission to care for all New Yorkers regardless of their ability to pay or immigration status.”

“ADAPT Community Network offers rewarding employment opportunities and a chance for you to work in a collaborative and inspiring team environment, as our staff members have unlimited potential for job growth and personal development,” said ADAPT Community Network Vice President of Workforce Development BOBBI JO YEAGER. “Our wide range of programs and services has created a job network that has mobility, diversity and flexibility. At ADAPT, we strive to make the employee experience a great one.”

“We are excited to participate in the Virtual Queens Jobs Recruitment Fair as we continue our efforts to empower potential, impact clients and serve communities” said Northwestern Mutual Recruiting Coordinator SADAF SADIQI.

“The Council for Airport Opportunity (CAO) is once again honored to partner with Queens Borough President Sharon Lee,” said Council for Airport Opportunity Executive Director ANDREW CAMPBELL. “We are seeing a growing need for more airport workers as we begin to safely and slowly recover from this devastating pandemic. Partnering with the Queens Borough President’s office on this recruitment fair will help the Queens community gain access to much needed employment opportunities. I applaud the Queens Borough President on her efforts to support Queens residents.”

“QCP has been an essential business throughout this pandemic and we have continued to provide quality services to our individuals with special needs,” said Queens Centers for Progress Human Resources Assistant Director MICHELLE JENKINS. “We are delighted to continue this partnership with the Queens Borough President’s Office to provide meaningful positions that offer great benefits and growth opportunities.”

“Now more than ever, it is extremely important that we get a complete and accurate 2020 Census count and community members throughout Queens can help!” said U.S. Census Bureau New York Regional Director JEFF T. BEHLER. “First, we need everyone to fill out their 2020 Census, whether online, over the phone or on paper.  Then, we need every willing and able Queens resident to apply for a short-term temporary job with the 2020 Census.  $28 per hour and a great way to serve your community by ensuring all of Queens is counted!”

“On behalf of the USTA National Tennis Center, we are honored once again to be part of an incredible opportunity for the Queens community,” said USTA Human Resources Recruiter BRITTANY PADMORE. “We look forward to again meeting great talent to join our US Open team.”

“We are delighted to partner with Borough President Lee to promote jobs with Watch Guard 24/7,” said Watch Guard 24/7 CEO JOHN RAFFERTY. “Qualified individuals have an opportunity to have a rewarding career with excellent benefits and growth opportunities. We are an essential business providing service throughout this difficult time and beyond.”
