QUEENS, NY –Borough President Melinda Katz today announced a free training workshop on June 11 on accessing multiple economic development funding sources through one streamlined grant application process. Queens’ local businesses, non-profit organizations, municipalities, economic development officials and members of the public are encouraged to participate.
“As Queens continues to grow and build capacity, we want to make sure we have the strongest applications coming from our borough,” said Borough President KATZ. “The streamlined consolidated application process is a tool for community growth and a way to ensure that state dollars are directed to help create jobs and community benefits right here in Queens.”
“Governor Cuomo’s Regional Council funding offers tremendous opportunity for local companies, and I encourage the New York City business community to apply for funding to grow your business,” said JOSEPH TAZEWELL, Regional Director of Empire State Development’s New York City Regional Office. “I’d like to thank Borough President Katz, for holding this information session and helping to get the word out about this great program.”
As part of Governor Andrew Cuomo’s plan to stimulate economic growth, a statewide Consolidated Funding Application (CFA) process helps streamline and expedite the process for applying for state funding for economic development projects. The CFA serves as a single entry point for access to the state’s economic development funding, eliminating the need for grant seekers to navigate multiple agencies and funding sources. Empire State Development Regional Director of New York City Joseph Tazewell will be the featured presenter.
