Flushing Town Hall cordially invites you to the 2021 virtual Lunar New Year Chinese Temple Bazaar. This pre-recorded, virtual celebration will take place on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at 2:00PM on Flushing Town Hall’s YouTube channel. Flushing Town Hall, a member of the New York City Cultural Institution Groups, strives to bring diverse communities together through culture and the arts. In 2012, we formed a Chinese Cultural Committee to further develop our relationships with the Chinese community. In February 2015, spearheaded by the Chinese Cultural Committee, Flushing Town Hall hosted our 1st ever Lunar New Year Chinese Temple Bazaar, which attracted the biggest crowd to Flushing Town Hall since it reopened to the public in the 1990s. This year, Flushing Town Hall and the Chinese Cultural Committee will take a safe and responsible approach to continue celebrating the holiday with audiences. The virtual event features a feast of Lunar New Year celebrations, including traditional folk dance, new Chinese hand puppet performance, paper-cutting demonstration, Chinese comic crosstalk episode, and classic Lunar New Year dish demonstrations. The great variety of programs provides an opportunity for everyone to experience the unique cultural atmosphere in which the Lunar New Year is celebrated by Chinese people.
