QUEENS, NY – NYC Health + Hospitals, the United States Tennis Association (USTA), Queens College and Young Adult Institute (YAI) , will join the Child Center of New York, the Council for Airport Opportunity, Queens Center for Progress, the U.S. Census Bureau, Watch Guard 24/7 and Workforce1 in the third “Virtual Queens Jobs Recruitment Fair” held by Acting Queens Borough President Sharon Lee since the COVID-19 pandemic began to connect Queens job seekers to available employment opportunities.

“Amidst the devastating impact of COVID-19, many employers are hiring to fill jobs in key sectors of our economy,” said Borough President LEE. “We will have returning and new employers to answer questions live about available jobs now, including contact tracers, Census jobs, support professionals and more. The road to recovery and rebuild is on the horizon, and we want Queens to be at the forefront.”

The next Virtual Queens Jobs Recruitment Fair will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 online from 2:00PM to 3:30PM. Prospective applicants interested in participating in the live interactive Q&A via Zoom Webinar must RSVP by Tuesday, June 2 at www.queensbp.org/rsvp. The June 3 Jobs Recruitment Fair will also be livestreamed at www.queensbp.org/recruitmentfair.

참가자와 시청자는 의료, 운송, 소매, 보안 등 다양한 필수 서비스 분야에서 수백 개의 직책을 채우고자 하는 고용주와 채용 담당자의 간단한 프레젠테이션을 들을 수 있습니다.

Among the participating employers will be NYC Health + Hospitals, hiring to fill positions including contact tracers in the City’s Test & Trace Corps, which fights COVID-19 by helping New Yorkers receive free and easy testing for the virus and ensuring care and safe isolation to prevent community spread.

“Now more than ever, it is extremely important that we get a complete and accurate 2020 Census count and community members throughout Queens can help!” said U.S. Census Bureau New York Regional Director JEFF T. BEHLER. “First, we need everyone to fill out their 2020 Census, whether online, over the phone or on paper.  Then, we need every willing and able Queens resident to apply for a short-term temporary job with the 2020 Census.  $28 per hour and a great way to serve your community by ensuring all of Queens is counted!”

“The Council for Airport Opportunity (CAO) is once again honored to partner with Queens Borough President Sharon Lee,” said Council for Airport Opportunity Executive Director ANDREW CAMPBELL. “We are seeing a growing need for more airport workers as we begin to safely and slowly recover from this devastating pandemic. Partnering with the Queens Borough President’s office on this recruitment fair will help the Queens community gain access to much needed employment opportunities. I applaud the Queens Borough President on her efforts to support Queens residents.”

“On behalf of the USTA National Tennis Center, we are excited to participate in the Queens Borough President’s Virtual Recruitment Fair,” said USTA Manager for Community Relations & Special Events KATHLEEN CASSINO. “We hope everyone remains safe at home and we look forward to virtually meeting some great talent within the Queens Community.”

“YAI promotes a mission of living, loving, working and learning to better the lives of people with disabilities,” said YAI Assistant Manager for Human Resources in Suffolk County and Queens ANDREJ DROFENIK. “If you’re interested in a positive and supportive work environment, YAI is a great place to stay and to grow.”

“QCP is committed to hiring career-minded people willing to make a difference in providing support to our special people,” said Queens Centers for Progress Human Resources Assistant Director MICHELLE JENKINS.

“We are delighted to partner with Borough President Lee to promote jobs with Watch Guard 24/7,” said Watch Guard 24/7 CEO JOHN RAFFERTY. “Qualified individuals have an opportunity to have a rewarding career with excellent benefits and growth opportunities. We are an essential business providing service throughout this difficult time and beyond.”

“We are proud to be a part of this vital initiative at a time when so many people — including our students — are persevering,” said Queens College Interim President WILLIAM TRAMONTANO. “One of the reasons that we thrive as a borough is our shared vision of community, supporting one another’s efforts in challenging times. This outreach will effect positive change, resulting in a stronger and more unified community.”
