QBP RICHARDS ANNOUNCES “BOROUGH HALL ON YOUR BLOCK: NORTHWEST QUEENS”
Weeklong series of community events begins Monday, August 21
(August 14, 2023 at 10am)
QUEENS, NY – Furthering his unwavering commitment to directly connecting Queens families with the programs and services of his office, regardless of ZIP code or socioeconomic status, Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr. today announced the third iteration of his popular “Borough Hall on Your Block” initiative will be held in Northwest Queens from Monday, August 21 to Saturday, August 26.
The weeklong initiative will bring a wide range of public events to Corona, East Elmhurst, Elmhurst and Jackson Heights, including a community town hall, employment and resource fairs, critical funding announcements, youth programming, a block party and more.
“You shouldn’t have to navigate the halls of government on your own when you have an issue. True representative government brings its resources and services directly to the people, and that is at the heart of our Borough Hall on Your Block initiative,” said Borough President RICHARDS. “My team and I can’t wait to spend next week in Northwest Queens, creating connections with families directly where they live. We look forward to seeing as many of our neighbors as possible throughout what should be a stellar week of programming and relationship building.”
Borough President Richards first announced the Borough Hall on Your Block initiative during his June 2022 State of the Borough address. He successfully hosted the inaugural iteration of Borough Hall on Your Block in Southeast Queens in August 2022, followed by Borough Hall on Your Block: Western Queens in February 2023.
As with the prior two programs, the goal of “Borough Hall on Your Block: Northwest Queens” is to directly connect area families with not only the government services they need, but the individualized attention they deserve from Borough President Richards and his staff.
