QUEENS, NY – Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr. stated the following in response to the passing of Peter Magnani, who dutifully served as Deputy Borough President from 1986 to 2001 under the late former Borough President Claire Shulman.

“Peter Magnani was a true public servant in every sense of the word, dedicating his life to strengthening our communities and uplifting our families. From serving 15 years as Deputy Queens Borough President to his influential tenures at the Queens Public Library system and leading the Queens office of the NYC Department of City Planning, Peter woke up every day determined to make his beloved Jackson Heights and The World’s Borough as a whole a stronger, more vibrant place to call home. His legacy will live on across Queens for decades to come,” said Borough President RICHARDS. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Peter’s wife, Dot, his children, Kirsten and Ian, and all who loved him during this difficult time.”
