QBP RICHARDS ANNOUNCES “BOROUGH HALL ON YOUR BLOCK: SOUTHEAST QUEENS”

Weeklong series of community events begins Monday, August 22

QUEENS, NY – Following through on his pledge to bring the programs and services of the Queens Borough President’s Office directly to families where they live, Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr. today announced that the inaugural iteration of “Borough Hall on Your Block” will begin next Monday, August 22, in Southeast Queens.

The weeklong initiative will bring a litany of public programming, such as resource and job fairs, youth events, a town hall and much more, to communities across Southeast Queens — directly connecting area families with not only the government services they need, but the individualized attention they deserve from Borough President Richards and his staff.

Borough President Richards first announced the Borough Hall on Your Block initiative during his 2022 State of the Borough address on June 3, a critical aspect of the transformative vision for Queens he articulated that morning.

“My office is determined to build a relationship with everyone who calls this borough home, and that means meeting Queens families right where they are. With Borough Hall on Your Block, we look forward to making sure no one goes unseen or unheard,” said Borough President RICHARDS. “I’m proud to begin this innovative initiative in Southeast Queens, home to communities that have been historically overlooked, as we work to build a stronger, fairer Queens one week at a time.”
