QBP RICHARDS TO HOST ANNUAL AAPI HERITAGE MONTH CELEBRATION

QUEENS, NY – To honor the unrivaled strength and energy of Queens’ vibrant Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities, Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr. will host his annual AAPI Heritage Month Celebration on Monday, May 22 at 6pm at Queens Borough Hall.

“From Flushing to Richmond Hill and all across Queens, our Asian American and Pacific Islander communities embody everything that makes The World’s Borough great — diversity, strength, innovation, resolve and pride in who we are as a people,” said Borough President RICHARDS. “I can’t wait to honor Queens’ AAPI heritage at the People’s House as we salute those upon whose shoulders we stand, applaud those leading our communities forward and look ahead to a future where our AAPI communities are as celebrated nationwide as they are here in The World’s Borough.”

Held in the Helen Marshall Cultural Center, the celebration will include multiple musical and dance performances by local cultural organizations, food and remarks by Borough President Richards and other officials. The Borough President will also present citations of honor to various Asian American leaders and community-based organizations in recognition of their dedicated service to The World’s Borough.
