QUEENS, NY – In an effort to further empower Queens residents through his Gender Justice Initiative, Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr. will host a Healthy Relationships Resource Fair and Conference on Wednesday, October 26 at 6pm at Queens Borough Hall.

The expert-led, in-person event will feature resources for survivors, advocates and professionals working with individuals impacted by any issue across the full spectrum of gender violence, including domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, trafficking, coercive control and more.

The program will also provide an opportunity for attendees to speak with experts about navigating the criminal justice system, housing, financial empowerment, mental health services, among others.

“Domestic Violence Awareness Month gives us a chance to not only acknowledge the very real threat to too many individuals’ and families’ safety, but also to work toward a better and healthier way to treat each other,” said Borough President RICHARDS. “With our Healthy Relationships Resource Fair and Conference, I hope Queens residents see the many tools at their disposal should they find themselves in need of support.”

The Borough President will also award workers on the frontlines of the domestic violence crisis in Queens.

Participating local groups include the Queens Family Justice Center, Safe Horizon, the Ali Forney Center, Queens District Attorney’s Office, the Korean American Family Service Center, Voces Latinas, South Queens Women’s March, and the City Commission on Human Rights, Urban Resource Institute, Womankind, Arab American Family Support Center and more.
