QUEENS BOROUGH CABINET TO HEAR PRESENTATIONS ON BUS REDESIGN PLANS; ORGAN DONATION

QUEENS, NY –The Queens Borough Cabinet, chaired by Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr., will hold a virtual meeting on Tuesday, April 12, at 9:30 AM.

The meeting will feature a presentation from the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) about the status of its efforts to redesign the Queens bus network. The agency is currently soliciting public comment about its recently-released New Draft Plan for redesigning the network. The proposed redesign is intended to result in more reliable bus service, faster travel, better connections, and more ease of use.

The meeting will also include a presentation from LiveOnNY, a Long Island City-based nonprofit organization that promotes organ and tissue donation and cares for the families touched by donation. The presentation will explain what LiveOnNY does, discuss the organ donation process, and clarify some organ donation myths.

This meeting will be conducted virtually with Borough Cabinet members participating via videoconference. The meeting will also be live-streamed to the public on the Borough President’s website at www.queensbp.org.
