QUEENS, NY – Americana and Blues singer Ddendyl of the 2014 season of NBC’s “The Voice” will be the featured artist on Thursday, August 27 in Tribute Park in Rockaway Park. The performance is free and open to the public as part of the Queens Borough President’s “Katz Concert Series” and in partnership with Friends of Tribute Park. Lawn chairs and/or blankets are recommended.

WHERE:         Tribute Park, Beach 116th Street at Beach Channel Drive in Rockaway Park.

Friends of Tribute Park is a private neighborhood group that helps maintain and preserve Tribute Park, which was established to pay tribute to the victims of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Borough President Katz recently allocated $375,000 of her Fiscal Year 2016 discretionary capital funds for pavers and accent lighting at Tribute Park.

Ddendyl Hoyt is a talented and compelling performer known for her sultry and unique vocal stylings and has been heard in venues across the country. Ddendyl began her music career during her childhood years in the rural area of Castile, NY. While taking private lessons for violin and oboe, Ddendyl taught herself how to play the piano in order to compose her own music. She began studying Classical Vocal Music as well at the age of 9. With the support of her parents and private teachers, Ddendyl attended and graduated from the prestigious Interlochen Academy of Arts, where she realized her passion for performing and song writing.
