Queens Borough President Melinda Katz will speak at the press conference the Queens Jewish Community Council (QJCC) is holding tomorrow morning to give elected officials and community leaders the opportunity to show support for the State of Israel and its people as Israel continues to defend itself from the rocket attacks the terrorist group Hamas has been launching from the Gaza Strip.

The press conference will be held at 9:45 a.m. tomorrow (Thursday, July 17) in front of Queens Borough Hall.

“Day after day, night after night, Israelis have been living lives of incredible anxiety as their nation faces a constant barrage of rocket attacks fired  by Hamas, a terrorist organization whose publicly stated goal is to destroy the State of Israel,” said Borough President Melinda Katz. “No nation can be expected to tolerate such attacks. We therefore support Israel as it exerts its right to defend itself.”

At the press conference, Borough President Katz will be joined by other elected officials and by representatives of the Israeli Consulate, the officers and board members of the QJCC, officers and members of the Vaad Haarabonim of Queens, Rabbi Michael Miller of the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York and members of the clergy from the various denominations represented in Queens.
