*ADVISORY* QUEENS BOROUGH BOARD TO HEAR PRESENTATION ON ASYLUM SEEKER RESPONSE; VOTE ON CARBON FREE SCHOOLS RESOLUTION

QUEENS, NY – The Queens Borough Board, chaired by Borough President Donovan Richards Jr., will hold a virtual meeting on Monday, March 6, at 5:30pm.

The meeting will also include a presentation from New York City Health + Hospitals that will focus on its response to the recent influx of asylum seekers. The presentation will include information on the operations of the city’s Humanitarian Emergency Response and Relief Centers.

The Borough Board will also vote on a proposed resolution in support of the Carbon Free & Healthy Schools initiative. The resolution calls for New York City to take steps to significantly reduce the carbon emissions of its public school buildings.

The meeting will be conducted virtually with Borough Board members participating via videoconference. Those interested in viewing the meeting can watch via live stream on the Borough President’s YouTube channel and on the homepage of the Borough President’s website at www.queensbp.org.
