QUEENS BOROUGH BOARD TO BE BRIEFED ON EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS; IMPROVING RESILIENCY

QUEENS, NY – The Queens Borough Board, chaired by Borough President Donovan Richards Jr., will hold an in-person meeting on Monday, January 8, 2024 at 5:30 PM.

The meeting will include an update from NYC Emergency Management (NYCEM) on the city’s work to prepare for emergencies and its efforts to encourage New Yorkers to be prepared for winter weather and other potential emergency situations.

The meeting will also include a presentation from the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal (HCR) about its Resilient Retrofits program, which offers grants and low-interest loans to qualifying single-family homeowners to finance projects that will help protect their homes from flooding. The program also offers certain homeowners financial assistance to help pay for energy efficiency upgrades.

This meeting will be conducted in-person in the Borough President’s second-floor conference room at Queens Borough Hall, located at 120-55 Queens Boulevard in Kew Gardens. The meeting will also be live-streamed to the public on the Borough President’s website at www.queensbp.org and on the Borough President’s YouTube page.
