QBP RICHARDS TO HOST MONTHLY IN-PERSON QUEENS JOBS RECRUITMENT FAIRS
Beginning Thursday, March 31 from 2pm to 4pm
(March 24, 2022 at 10am)
QUEENS, NY – Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr. today announced the return of the office’s series of monthly job fairs, with the first such fair of 2022 taking place on Thursday, March 31.
As opposed to the virtual fairs the office held by the office during earlier stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, this new series of “Queens Jobs Recruitment Fairs” will be held in-person in the Helen Marshall Cultural Center at Queens Borough Hall, located at 120-55 Queens Boulevard in Kew Gardens.
The March 31 job fair will be held from 2pm to 4pm. Subsequent fairs will be held on April 28, May 26, and June 30, 2022.
“While unemployment has declined nationwide as we begin to emerge from the depths of the pandemic-fueled recession, we must do all we can to quicken the recovery here in New York City,” said Borough President RICHARDS. “Our latest series of Queens Jobs Recruitment Fairs will address persistent unemployment by directly connecting residents with employers and available jobs in a wide array of fields. These monthly fairs will be a great opportunity for residents to meet with industry leaders and get their questions answered by organizations looking to hire right away.”
The employers who will be participating in the March 31 fair include Commonpoint Queens, the Council for Airport Opportunity, Express Professional Employment, Global Contact Services GSC, Maspeth Town Hall, New York Life, Outreach Development Corporation, Westhab Inc., and Workforce1. These organizations will be hiring for positions in the fields of administration, customer service, transportation, finance, hospitality, retail, security, and more.
Walk-ins will be welcome at the fair, although it is recommended that attendees RSVP in advance at www.queensbp.org/rsvp.
All attendees must wear a mask while at Queens Borough Hall, in accordance with COVID-19 guidelines.
