Come Tour the BHS Castle in Fort Totten
Bayside Historical Society staff and volunteers are offering guided tours of The Castle and its exhibitions on the second Sunday of each month from 1pm-3pm. Tours are approximately 45 minutes long; there will be two tours offered, the first beginning at 1pm and the second at 2pm. The cost is free, but reservations are required. Reserve your spot in advance for the April 14th tour on the BHS website: https://www.baysidehistorical.org/events-1/come-tour-the-bhs-castle-5 The Castle is one of the finest surviving examples in New York City of the Gothic Revival castellated style architecture. Completed in 1887, the building served as the base Officers’ Mess Hall and Club for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers School of Application.
