Weeklong series of community events begins Monday, February 26

QUEENS, NY – In service to the mission of better connecting borough families to the services and resources of his office, Queens Borough President Donovan Richards today announced the fourth iteration of his popular “Borough Hall on Your Block” initiative will be held in Central Queens from Monday, February 26 to Saturday, March 2.

The weeklong initiative will bring a wide range of public events to Community Districts 6 and 9 — covering Forest Hills, Rego Park, Kew Gardens, Richmond Hill, Woodhaven and Ozone Park — including a town hall meeting, a job fair, an immigrant resource fair, capital funding announcements, a youth opportunities mixer and mobile office hours hosted by the Borough President’s Constituent Services department.

“Borough Hall on Your Block is all about meeting families where they live and bringing both my office’s services and capital investment right to their community. To that end, my team and I are excited to spend all next week in Central Queens as our Borough Hall on Your Block initiative rolls on,” said Borough President RICHARDS. “I look forward to building bridges and uplifting our neighbors throughout what I know will be a fruitful and successful week of programming.”

Borough President Richards first announced the Borough Hall on Your Block series during his June 2022 State of the Borough address. He successfully hosted the inaugural iteration of Borough Hall on Your Block in Southeast Queens in August 2022, followed by Borough Hall on Your Block: Western Queens in February 2023 and Borough Hall on Your Block: Northwest Queens in August 2023.

As with the prior three programs, the goal of “Borough Hall on Your Block: Central Queens” is to directly connect area families with not only the government services they need, but the individualized attention they deserve from Borough President Richards and his staff.
